What is a fun fact about yourself that people might not know?
In my free time I scout college football players for the NFL. I take a list of about 150 to 250 draft-eligible players each year and watch films to see for myself how well they will do at the next level. I’ve always loved football, so much so that my wife jokingly (or perhaps not so jokingly) calls football my first love. Unfortunately, after numerous knee injuries and surgeries, I can no longer play football recreationally, so this has been a way for me to stay close to the game.

What is a fun fact about yourself that people might not know?
In the Philippines, where I was born, it’s common to name a child using an amalgamation of their parents’ first names. My mom’s name is Maria, and my dad’s Nicasio – they were set on naming me Fortunately, when they went to the city hall to register my birth, the secretary misheard and put my name as Marlene instead of Marnie, and I guess my parents liked it and stuck with it! I still sometimes thank my lucky stars for this, as I love my name!

What is a fun fact about yourself that people might not know?
During my childhood, I won a bronze and gold medal. I thought it was real gold so I carried it with me all over the place and was so attached to it. My aunt told me one day it was not pure gold and I still carried it with anyone because I had a deep connection with it. I realized that it was my first prize so I cherished it and did not let it affect me that it wasn’t real gold.
