Pardieu Kapepula
HR Generalist

Ambitious and driven go hand in hand here at fusionSpan. Seeing us grow from a team of fifteen to twenty employees, and now to nearly one hundred, speaks volumes to how ambitious and driven fusionSpan is. We are thriving through challenges and constantly setting company goals to strive towards, and always seeking opportunities to do better and achieve greatness.

Once a month, fusionSpan will share the talent and hard work of the people that we call our team. From Delivery, Consulting, Operations, and more – we pause to get a little bit personal, showcasing the faces behind the technology solutions that we work on each day. This month we meet fusionSpan HR Generalist, Pardieu Kapepula!

What was your first job? Tell us about it.

My very first job was in retail during my senior year of high school. I worked as a cashier at TJMaxx in Olney, MD at the age of 17. It was the typical cashier duties like greeting customers, collecting payments, and answering customer questions. I really appreciated the experience as it helped me develop customer service skills, but the real excitement for me was getting first dibs on all the new merchandise!

What’s your favorite part about working in the technology industry? What drew you to it?

There are so many facets to the tech industry that it’s a bit difficult to narrow down; but I’d say my favorite part is learning all the new systems, tools and applications and their functionalities. What drew me to the technology industry is that companies in tech make employee happiness a priority, and aim to create a comfortable and fun work environment more often and in more ways than other industries.

What are the main responsibilities of your current role? What do you enjoy most about your position?

As the Human Resources Generalist at fusionSpan, my role consists of a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from onboarding new employees, administering employee benefits and leaves, crafting HR policies, and continuously working to develop and cultivate a caring culture. I have an immense passion for HR and enjoy every aspect of my role.

Employee SpotlightLooking back, what career advice would you tell your 18-year-old self?

Oh lala! There are so many words of wisdom I would advise to my 18-year-old self, but the first that comes to mind would be: “When an opportunity to advance presents itself, take it! Learn from it and propel forward!”

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?

During my time away from work I’m always eager about spending time with my little one. From soil and volcano experiments to museum outings or learning to play Dragon Ball Xenoverse2 on the XBOX (and always losing), there’s just never a dull moment! Food is also like my second love and I look forward to discovering new eateries, cuisine and brunch venues within the DMV area.

What words would you use to describe fusionSpan? What have you enjoyed most about being here?

Welcoming, ambitious and driven, is how I would describe fusionSpan. When I first joined the team back in 2018, the first thing I observed was the welcoming environment and everyone’s willingness to give a helping hand no matter how busy they were with their own tasks.

Ambitious and driven go hand in hand here at fusionSpan. Seeing us grow from a team of fifteen to twenty employees, and now to nearly one hundred, speaks volumes to how ambitious and driven fusionSpan is. We are thriving through challenges and constantly setting company goals to strive towards, as well as always seeking opportunities to do better and achieve greatness.
